RECONSTITUTION DE L'UNIFORME de VIVANDIERE du 5Th N. Y. Z.

A priori on ne trouve aucune trace de vivandières du régiment dans les textes et documents d'époque, mais il est peu probable qu'elles ne furent pas dès la création de cette unité de la partie.
Ce régiment se rapproche dans don uniforme très prêt de ses homologues français, et il parraîtrait incohérent qu'il n'est pas repris pour l'essentiel la tradition la plus polpulaire qu'est la "VIVANDIERE"

Voici ce qu'on peu apercevoir sur une photo des années 1890, de commémoration du régiment :



il s'agit de petites filles faisant partie de la musique du régiment. Est ce à dire que la tenue des vivandières reprennait ces silhouettes, rien n'est moins sûr

Voici maintenant quelques comparaison entre la tenue de vivandière et de soldat :

- une tunique plus sophistiquée, avec double boutonnage de parement, présence de deux épaulettes peut être pour le port du tonnelet, pantalon présent sous une jupe assez longue, pas de tablier blanc, chapeau avec plume

Voici mantenant la version française qui se rapproche execivement des uniformes du 5Th N.Y.Volont.

Retour en arrière, voici ce qui aurait pu influencer la version Reenacters Américaines :

Voilà ce que je pense, mais il n'y a là que suputation :

l'uniforme de base est identique au simple soldat, et conserve pour l'essentiel la rigueur et la distingtion française, à la mode turc.

La ceinture est aussi identique à la troupe, et recouverte par le ceinturon noir d'infanterie pour la boucle standard de cavalerie de mémoire, à vérifier.

Le pantalon identique à la troupe, est couvert par une jupe arrivant à mi-cuisse et bordée de deux passementerie standard du reste de l'uniforme de troupe, plutôt bleu marine à bordure et galon rouge

Il n'y a pas de présence de tablier sur le devant, ce qui est plutôt une tradition européenne, anglaise et française.

La chéchia remplace les chapeaux, avec ou sans turban.

La chemisette, à manche un peu plus étriquée et col dentelé pour féminiser la tenue, passe sous le gilet de zouave.

Le boléro est légèrement plus evasé au niveau des manches, pour permettre d'enfiler la chemisette de zouave, mais garde la particularité de la tenue standard, quant à son galonnage, sans adjonction entre autre de boutons supplémentaires.

Guêtre blanches avec le reste sur une brogans de marche pour suivre le régiment, et sur des botillons à lacet en tenue de ville.

La cantine sous forme de tonnelet conserve la couleur bois et est monté soit sur une lanière cuir soit noire soit blanche.

Il s'agit des zouaves de Coppens, et il se pourrait que la vivandière est Miss Amelia Riliseh de la Companie D, ou Mrs. Clark, l'épouse du sergent d'ordonnance William Clark .
