| Sujet: Vest of Alexander C. McClurg Lun 18 Juin - 17:48 | |
| This vest was the Civil War Vest of Alexander C. McClurg, of the 88th Illinois Infantry. The Vest is signed on the inside in his hand & was his when he was made a Col., & AAG, Chief of Staff, 14th Army Corps. Alex McClurg was Known for his gallantry in Action & skillful execution of his duties. On Sept.1865 he mustered out with twenty five battles to his credit. He was also with Sherman on the march to he sea. Gen. Sherman, Thomas & Mitchell all said he should stay in the Army & make it his Profession. This is a vest with great History. In the two photos I have seen of him you can see this vest coller coming out from under his coat. This is a rare Civil war Vest. Shipped to your door. | |
