| Confederate worn jacket by Colonel Richard Henry (R.H.) Dulany. Note on jacket reads, ''Battle Scarred jacket of Colonel Dulany. In the Spring of 1864 Colonel M.G. Harmon (Quarter Master) gave this Staunton Military Academy jacket to Colonel R.H. Dulany, replacing his badly worn and tattered coat. A few months later the Colonel was wearing this very jacket when he was severely wounded in the left arm at Tom's Brook, VA. Dr. Hunter McQuire saved the COlonel's arm by heroic effort, and his jacket! Shortly after the war Dr. McQuire returned the torn and blood stained relic to the Colonel. Donated by the Lemmon family.'' With 5 of 8 buttons. Bottom of left arm is torn off. | |
